A little note to start: I find it extremely difficult to pair the alpha kids up without immediately going but wait wait wait what about THIS KID!?!? For some reason, pairing up the beta kids and exploring each relationship between them is doable (as long as the others are present somewhere), but all of my alpha thoughts inevitably lead to mushing all of them together in a giant, terrible, best friend foursome. They feel completely inseparable to me, jumping to conclusions and misunderstanding and endlessly in love.
But! As far as friendships, go? Jane and Dirk’s ruins me the most.

I can’t feel my right hand. The ligaments are completely fried after this. What is with this obsession with painting troll girls in pretentious art nouveau-style poses? (Just wait, Terezi is going to be a doozy, believe me!)
I feel a bit uneasy about Nepeta being the only troll in this watercolor series to be depicted as being in a romantic pairing; I know that, despite being a minor character, she’s more than just her relationship with Karkat or Equius. Still, it’s a key aspect of her story, and I sympathize with the poor kid because of how pathetic and doomed her crush on Karkat was. Furthermore, my heart does indeed break a little when I contrast that with their ancestors’ story.
The gold watercolors ended up looking very orange in this. Bluh. o__o

So…I did this because Black Widow and Hawkeye make da best moirails (if they were trolls or whateva) and Equius likes archery, though he tends breaks the bow (all the time). So…y’all can kick me out of the fandoms now.
And it turns out Nepeta is a sphinx!
